I particularly like your point #5. Busy doing the right things is key. 
Personally I&#039;ve held off on most of the social networking sites. I like and use LinkedIn. I&#039;m a passive Plaxo user who uses birthday alerts to send off a greeting now and then. 
What I see is a challenge with some of these &#039;social media&#039; is being able to sort the wheat from the chaff.  If it distracts you from key activities, maybe it&#039;s better to avoid them all together. 
Email and my phone remain great tools.
