Relating this to networking, I always find that the most successful networkers are those who look for ways to help others, rather than focusing on how others can help them. Those that strive to be a resource to others are the ones who find success - or, success finds them. Those who are looking for "what they can get" fail and you often don't see beyond a networking meeting or two - valuable connections are never formed when one's intentions are so one-sided.

Darn, I looked into going to that event and decided against it. Now I wish I had gone. Sounds like it was very valuable.<br /> With all the social networking going on, everyone (me included) seems to be focused on what they want and need. This post reminds me that when we focus on others, we eventually get what we need. I need to stop thinking about how others might be able to help me and focus on what value I can give others. Thanks!
